Privacy Notice

DealsForYou is a public read-only deal aggregator. There are no user accounts, no logins, no profile pages, no comments. Because of that, we collect, store, or process almost nothing about you.

Specifically, we do not:

• Ask for your name, email, phone, address, or any other personal identifier.
• Set any first-party advertising or tracking cookies.
• Use Google Analytics or any other behavioral profiling tool.
• Build a profile of who you are, what you like, or how you browse.
• Sell, rent, share, or otherwise disclose any data about you to a third party for any commercial purpose.
• Send you marketing communications. (We can’t. We have no way to contact you.)

When your browser or app makes a request to DealsForYou, basic metadata is necessarily transmitted to the underlying hosting provider (Vercel) so the server can answer the request. That metadata includes things like:

• Your IP address
• The path or URL you requested
• Your User-Agent string (browser and operating system)
• The referring page, if your browser sends one
• The standard HTTP request/response metadata for that exchange

That information may appear in short-lived server logs operated by Vercel. We use it transiently to:

• Apply per-IP rate limits (to keep the site stable)
• Diagnose and fix errors when something is broken
• Detect abusive traffic patterns

We do not link this metadata to any other identifier; we do not attempt to identify you from it; and we do not retain it long-term ourselves. Vercel may retain it briefly under their privacy policy.

If you toggle the light/dark theme, your choice is stored in your own browser’s localStorage so the page remembers it the next time you visit. This is a per-device preference that lives only in your browser. It is never transmitted to us, and we have no way to read it.

Your saved-deal list (the items you bookmark using the bookmark icon, stored under the dfy:saved key) is also kept in localStorage on your device. Same rules apply: per-device, never transmitted to us, and the list lives only in this browser.

You can erase any of this at any time by clearing site data in your browser settings.

The Service prominently links to retailer and source websites (e.g. Amazon, Newegg, Best Buy, and the original Reddit threads). Those sites are operated by parties independent of us. When you click through, you leave DealsForYou and become subject to that third party’s own privacy practices, which we don’t control and can’t speak to.

We don’t sell, rent, license, or otherwise disclose your information to advertisers, data brokers, or other commercial third parties. We have no advertising relationships and no partnerships that depend on user data.

The Service is not directed at, and may not be used by, persons under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have inadvertently received information from a person under 18, we will delete it as soon as practicable. If you believe a person under 18 has interacted with the Service, please let us know at the address below.

Because we don’t hold personally identifying data about you, most data-subject rights under laws like the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, and similar legislation are not directly applicable. There is nothing for us to look up, correct, or delete in your name. If you believe we hold something about you and want it removed, contact us and we will do our best to help.

All traffic to and from the Service uses HTTPS. We follow industry baseline practices for a static + serverless web app, including strict security headers, parameterized database queries, input validation, and rate limiting. No system is 100% secure; you use the Service at your own risk.

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. Continuing to use the Service after a change constitutes your acceptance of the updated notice.
